Self-braking descender / belay device
To belay using rock climbing techniques:
- paying out rope is done using both hands,
- arresting a fall is done by holding the free end
of the rope.
- The speed of the descent is controlled with
the hand on the free end of the rope (the rope is
released with the handle).
- Pivoting cam makes it easier to take up the slack
in the rope. They also allow a hauling system to
be reversible and can be used for short ascents
(in conjunction with a footloop and a handled rope
clamp).
- For ropes between 10 and 11 mm in diameter.
